Our History
Dillard Alarm Company was founded in July of 1976 by Jimmy and Dorothy Dillard. Jimmy started out with a single vehicle and ran the small business out of the family room of their home. Jimmy did all aspects of installation and service, while his wife Dorothy answered the phone and typed contracts and bills. Jimmy always tried to provide the best possible service to his customers and the phone would ring in the family home all hours of the day and night. In 1976, at the age of twelve, Jimmy's son Troy would help with the family business on weekends and in the summer. Troy grew to love the business and enjoyed going on installations and service calls whenever possible. Both Jimmy and Troy enjoyed going out to different homes and businesses to meet and make people feel safe. Seeing the smiles and happy customers from the relationships that grew over the years let Jimmy know that he had picked a great profession. Knowing how important the Security and Life Safety industry is to the community, Troy decided to carry on the family business and purchased the company from his father in 1998. Since that time Dillard Alarm Company has become the area's local Honeywell and Resideo Authorized Security Dealer and relocated to its current location at 3100 Lafayette Boulevard in Spotsylvania County. Today, Dillard Alarm Company is still family owned and has a small staff of dedicated and highly trained employees that concentrate on the greater Fredericksburg Area. Most of the dedicated employees are also volunteers with the local fire & rescue community. The company and the employees see the importance of security and life safety and the value of giving back to the community.
